When a pair of jeans you might want to buy has so much narrative spun around them that by making the purchase you’re scared you might be entering a multi-level marketing scheme or cult, we’ve ALL got a problem. Yet this is what’s going on in fashion branding—and, in a larger sense, anyone creating any type of product—everywhere now. There’s just too much information, too much storytelling, too much myth… and not enough truth.
Yet we know that having a good story is the key to success, so where do we go from here?
I address this and more in my talk “On Getting Gotten: How the Truth Makes You Interesting,” which I’m presenting as part of the Stitch Factory/revitalize Downtown Las Vegas project series on Wednesday, November 19.
Other speakers include
Laurie Libman-Wilson, Founder/Owner, Studio Penny Lane
